Toddlers from Bowie and Fairfax with Life-Threatening Food Allergies and Esophagitis to Visit Senator Cardin


Tuesday, June 17 at 11:30AMU.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) will meet with six-year-old Zuri Lancaster of Bowie, Md., and three-year-old Joshua McCoy of Richmond, Va., both of whom suffer from severe food allergies and eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). Along with their parents, these toddlers will share their courageous stories of dealing with this rare disease that makes it impossible for them to eat most normal foods. Zuri and Joshua will be accompanied by Rosemary Moriarty of Fairfax, Va., leader of the Washington DC Area Eosinophilic Connection (WAEC), and her son Jack, who also suffers from EoE.  WAEC supports families in Maryland, DC, and Virginia who have children with the disease. There currently is no cure.
