Edwards to Host Environmental &  Women’s Health Roundtables

Washington, D.C. – On Tuesday March 8, 2016, Congresswoman Donna F. Edwards (MD-4) will host a roundtable – Environmental Challenges and the Impact on Maryland Communities – in Arnold, Maryland. Topics will include global warming and climate change, growing environmental concerns, ongoing environmental injustices, public and private challenges, solutions, and successes. Roundtable participants will comprise of scientists, community members, academicians, economists, and policy experts.
Later in the week, on Friday March 11, 2016, Congresswoman Edwards will host a roundtable – Women’s Health: A Conversation about the Challenges & Opportunities to Reduce Health Disparities for Women and Girls of Color –  in Largo, Maryland.  Health practitioners, academicians, and community members will discuss heart health, obesity, diabetes, cancer, domestic violence, sexual assault, maternal and infant health, and mental health.
