Morgan State Women’s Basketball: Tiny Adams Sets School Record in Steals

The Morgan State Lady Bears couldn’t snap the North Carolina A&T Lady Aggies’ Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference winning streak on Feb. 1 as they fell to A&T, 67-56, in Greensboro, N.C.

Instead, the loss ended MSU’s own five game winning streak against the MEAC, while advancing the top ranked Lady Aggies to a 14-7 overall record, 8-0 in the MEAC.

But despite the loss, MSU still had reason to celebrate as senior star Corin “Tiny “Adams was cited for setting a new school record with 359 career steals. The native of Brooklyn, N.Y., also scored a team-high 16 points, along with seven rebounds, matching the outstanding performances she put up last week. Adams averaged 44 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and five steals in two wins during the weekend.

Adams wasn’t the only MSU player to shine as the senior forward Kristina Rosario was named MEAC Defensive Player of the Week on Feb. 1 after recording 23 total rebounds, a blocked shot and two steals help the Lady Bears claim recent victories against the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore and Norfolk State.

The Lady Bears will now attempt to bounce back from their loss when they host Florida A&M University on Feb. 6.
