Franchot to Speak at NCSLA Conference,  Tour Baltimore City Community College

WHAT:           As the state’s chief regulator of alcohol, Comptroller Franchot will give the opening remarks today at the 2015 Northern/Southern Regional Conference of the National Conference of State Liquor Administrators (NCSLA) in Baltimore. Comptroller Franchot has been an outspoken advocate for greater consumer choice, including the expansion of microbreweries, micro-distilleries and wineries. The NCSLA is an organization dedicated to the promotion and enactment of effective and equitable state alcoholic beverage control laws.

The Comptroller then will visit Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) as a continuation of his community college tour this fall. The Comptroller will join Dr. Gordon May, BCCC president, to walk the campus and see construction of the Administrative Wing. At the end of the tour, the Comptroller will join students for a brief conversation about BCCC’s role in college affordability and economic opportunity.
