MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Police say they've apprehended a suspect in a shooting that claimed the life of a rapper and another man in a Montgomery bar over the weekend. Six others were wounded.
Montgomery police on Monday announced the arrest of a 25-year-old Montgomery man. Police say the suspect turned himself into detectives late Sunday evening. He now faces two counts of capital murder.
City officials closed the Centennial Bar and Grill after rapper Glenn Thomas, 22, known as Doe B., and Kimberle Johnson, a 22-year-old Troy University student, were fatally shot early Saturday.
Police said in a statement that the shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute between the suspect and the rapper.
Six other people were injured and were hospitalized in stable condition.
