Restoration complete for all BGE customers affected by Hurricane Sandy, positioning BGE to deploy company crews and offer assistance to utility companies in the Northeast

“This past week, more than 1,900 utility workers from 14 states answered BGE’s call for assistance and aided BGE crews with Hurricane Sandy restoration efforts, and for that we are extremely appreciative,” said Stephen J. Woerner, senior vice president and chief operating officer for BGE. “With our restoration now complete, BGE is poised to join the thousands of utility professionals from across the nation in assisting communities in the northeast recover from this ongoing natural disaster.”
BGE is an active participant in a mutual assistance network of utilities and stands ready to assist when its service is requested, so long as it does not negatively affect service restoration to its central Maryland customers. All costs associated with responding to mutual assistance requests are the responsibility of the requesting utility.
