STATEMENT FROM GOVERNOR MARTIN O’MALLEY ON THE NOMINATION OF SARAH BLOOM RASKIN TO THE FEDERAL RESERVE

ANNAPOLIS, MD (April 29, 2010) – Governor Martin O’Malley issued this statement today following President Obama’s nomination of Maryland Commissioner of Financial Regulation Sarah Bloom Raskin to the Federal Reserve Board:

“I want to congratulate Sarah Raskin on her appointment to the Federal Reserve. Sarah has been an exceptional partner in her role as Commissioner of Financial Regulation, particularly as we’ve fought to bring Maryland’s middle class families through the national foreclosure crisis. As Congress considers tough new financial reform, Sarah’s leadership in Maryland will serve her well on the national level. We wish her an expedient confirmation process and well wishes in her new position at the Federal Reserve.”
