LT. GOVERNOR BROWN TO ANNOUNCE NEW MEMBERS OF ‘HEALTHIEST MARYLAND’ INITIATIVE ON EASTERN SHORE



SALISBURY, Md. (August 19, 2010) – Tomorrow morning, Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown, joined by Perdue Farms CEO Jim Perdue, officials from Salisbury University, the City of Salisbury, Peninsula Hospital and other local employers, will hold a press conference to announce new members of the ‘Healthiest Maryland’ initiative. The initiative, which was launched in May, promotes healthy lifestyle practices in the workplace. There are currently over 70 employers who have joined ‘Healthiest Maryland.’

Immediately preceding the press conference, Lt. Governor Brown will lead local employers and business leaders on a ‘health walk’ across campus. The walk will depart from the Commons Dining Hall at approximately 11:15 and conclude at the Fulton Mall Fountain for the press conference.
