Repealing Health Care Reform Would Jeopardize the Health Of Americans and Our Economy
On Wednesday, April 6 at 2:00PM, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) will address leaders in the health care industry as he keynotes the closing session of the 8th Annual World Health Care Congress. Speaking before an expected 1,800 health care, government and corporate leaders, Senator Cardin will outline the benefits of the new health care reform law and the lives and resources that would be at stake if the Affordable Care Act was to be rolled back.
Ben Cardin has been a national leader on health care since coming to Congress in 1987. In 2006, he was elected to the U.S. Senate where he now serves on the Senate Finance Committee. In the 111th Congress, Senator Cardin was successful in getting a guaranteed dental benefit included in the reauthorization of the Children’s Health Insurance Program. His provisions to promote life-saving preventive services and research, and initiatives to erase disparities in minority health, also were included in the Affordable Care Act.
