CARDIN TO PARTICIPATE IN SENATE HEARING ON U.S. READINESS FOR FUTURE EXTREME WEATHER EVENTS



“Update on the Latest Climate Change Science and Local Adaptation Measures”

On Wednesday, August 1 at 10:00 AM, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD), Chairman of the Environment and Public Works Water and Wildlife Subcommittee, will participate in a full committee hearing to review the latest climate change science and local adaptation measures. EPW Chair Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) will chair the hearing and Senator Cardin will co-chair the second panel, which includes John R. Griffin, Maryland Secretary of Natural Resources and Chair of the Adaptation and Response Working Group of the Maryland Commission on Climate Change. He will be among the policy makers and experts who will share what efforts will be needed, and what projects are already underway, to protect our communities from the new normal brought on by climate change.
