STATEMENT FROM GOVERNOR MARTIN O’MALLEY ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF 9/11

ANNAPOLIS, MD (September 11, 2012)
– Governor Martin O’Malley today issued the following
statement on the 11th anniversary of the September 11th attacks:

“On September 11, 2001, we told one another that we would never forget. Today and every day, we remember the men, women, and children
- 68 of them Marylanders - who lost their lives 11 years ago, as well as their loved ones who still grieve for them. We remember the courage of those who risked everything to save others that day. And we pay tribute to the brave men and women who provide
for our nation's defense each and every day, because freedom isn't free.

“Each and every year on this day of remembrance, we should look to our neighbors and rediscover all that unites us and has made our nation a beacon of hope and human dignity to the world."
