Agricultural Community on Truth Tour
-Trip to Larriland Will Focus on Impact of Recession on Family Farms-

WHAT: As a part of his new “Economic Truth Tour,” Comptroller Franchot will hear from members of the local agricultural industry about the impact the nation’s economic downturn has had on their community. On this tour, Franchot will travel throughout the state to hear directly from businesses, organizations and individuals about economic conditions throughout Maryland.
He will meet with representatives from key Maryland industries including agriculture, labor, life sciences, information technology, health care, mining, wineries, real estate, banking, military contracting and hospitality. Additionally, he will talk with senior citizens, students, clergy, small business owners, municipal government leaders, and watermen.
Larriland Farm is owned and operated by the Moore family. Larry and Polly Moore began their “pick your own” farming operation in 1973 and their children run the facility today.
