ANNAPOLIS, Md. (October 15, 2012) – Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown tomorrow, Tuesday, October 16, 2012, will provide opening remarks at the Governor’s Housing Conference in Baltimore. The one-day annual conference is the largest and most comprehensive forum of its kind in the state, convening experts, advocates and lawmakers to discuss issues related to affordable homeownership and rental housing in Maryland. The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development has hosted the conference for 11 years with the Homebuilders Association of Maryland. The Maryland Affordable Housing Coalition has been a partner for the past two years.
This year’s conference theme, “Restoring Communities Across Maryland: Creating Jobs … Expanding Housing Choice;” reflects the significant role a healthy housing market plays in generating jobs, stabilizing neighborhoods and helping families of all walks of life establish a foundation upon which they can build toward the future.
