Cardin to Join Congressmen Ruppersberger and Sarbanes and Baltimore County Exec Kamenetz to Launch New $11.8 Million Initiative to Train Low-skill Job Seekers
On Thursday, October 25, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin will join U.S. Congressmen C.A. Dutch Ruppersbergerand John Sarbanes and Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz (all D-MD) to launch a new $11.8 million initiative to train low-skill job seekers, including individuals with limited English proficiency and individuals with low reading, writing and math skills. The U.S. Department of Labor awarded Baltimore County the grant from the Workforce Innovation Fund, which is one of only four major grants awarded.
The event will feature a graduate of a Baltimore County training program who earned a high school diploma and learned interpersonal, interviewing, and trade skills that qualified him for his current job.
