Eligible organizations that provide emergency services support throughout BGE’s central Maryland service area – either preparedness or response and recovery – were encouraged to apply for a single grant of up to $10,000. During the press conference, more than $300,000 will be distributed to approximately 40 organizations which represent Baltimore City and the ten counties in which BGE provides natural gas and/or electric service, including volunteer fire departments, search and rescue teams and other public safety groups.

WHERE: Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company, 40 E. Sudbrook Lane, Pikesville, Md. 21208
WHY: BGE greatly values its relationships with its emergency response partners. Through this program, BGE has the unique opportunity to further strengthen its support of emergency responders as part of Exelon’s $70 million, 10-year commitment to Maryland. Examples of equipment to be purchased with BGE grant monies include defibrillators, radio systems, thermal imager cameras, rescue tools and carbon monoxide detection equipment.
