WHAT: Comptroller Franchot will join Senator E.J. Pipkin and Delegate John Cluster, law enforcement representatives, parents and retired educators to call for a full-time school resource officer (SRO) in every public school in Maryland. Senator Pipkin and Del. Cluster recently introduced bills in the Maryland Senate and House of Delegates requiring a full-time school resource officer (SRO) to be present at each public elementary and secondary school throughout the state. The assembled group will share their views on the need for SROs to provide a safe learning environment for all children statewide.
