The Greens at Irvington Mews will provide energy efficient, affordable housing for seniors

On Earth Day, Monday, April 22, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD), a senior member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, will join state and local officials including Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, Enterprise, Capital One Bank, Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, Baltimore Housing, and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta for the grand opening of The Greens at Irvington Mews. The facility is a newly-constructed $16 million development that features 100 affordable rental apartments for low- and moderate-income seniors and adults with disabilities. The Greens at Irvington Mews is built to the Enterprise Green Communities Criteria and meets the standards for both LEED Silver mid-rise and Energy Star multi-family high-rise residential buildings.

Located in southwest Baltimore City, on a site that once served as the Irvington Loop for the #8 trolley line, the new four-story building, designed by Hord Coplan Macht and constructed by Harkins Builders, includes 82 one-bedroom and 18 two-bedroom apartments.
