Our world turned “misty blue” as we shed tears watching Gabby looking around awe-struck, as her dream unfolded before millions. Her infectious million- dollar smile lighted the world when she stood with pride in the ring of honor, a young lady whose dream was not deferred.

I was aghast when I heard the comments about Gabby’s hair. Instead of marveling in the spirit of her victory, they criticized her hair! Did they miss India’s “I’m not my Hair” or Jill Scott’s song “Hate on me Hater.”

What do you do when you pick too many blackberries? Debbie Furman of Reisterstown made blackberry Sangria, invited friends to bring a bottle of wine, and had a wine tasting party complete with tasty foods.

Urbanite Magazine’s monthly rollout party at Cakewalk Art Galley on Charles Street provided guests the opportunity to mingle with the artists whose work was displayed throughout the gallery. The food catered by Charles Street’s Sammy’s Trattoria Italian Cuisine was mouth-watering. We enjoyed stuffed fried mushrooms, chicken cacciatore, prosciutto and melon, artichokes and cannolis.

It’s hard to believe that my daughter and son- in-law Lisa and Gregory Packer are celebrating their 20th anniversary. We are proud of the “precious memories” of family and friends that celebrated the wedding day and have now transitioned.
