AARP Maryland Honors District Heights Resident with Service Award

AARP Maryland presented its annual Community Presence Service Award to District Heights resident Wilma Smith during the organization's annual “Andrus Volunteer Recognition Luncheon,” named for the founder of AARP, Dr. Ethel Andrus. This year's keynote address was given by the National President of AARP, Rob Romasco, at the Hyatt Hotel in Cambridge, Md.

Smith received the award in recognition of her years of service on behalf of AARP to the community.

"We are so fortunate to have Wilma’s talents and leadership in support of what we do for the 50+ population in Prince George’s County and across the state" Hank Greenberg, State Director said at the event. She is an extraordinary volunteer leader and we honor her for that.”
