The game marked a farewell and thank you to its seniors—guards Cheyenne Curley-Payne, Saadia Doyle, Kara Smith and Adelle Walton and forwards Nicole and Portia Deterville, and Julee O'Neal.

Howard took a few plays to gather the offensive momentum, trailing by six points with a score of 7-13 at the 11:00 mark.

Doyle scored six consecutive points to tie the contest 13-13, then the Lady Bison came together to pace a 14-2 run for a 12-point first-half lead, 27-17.

Howard maintained its power and ended the first 20 minutes of play 31-23. Following the halftime intermission, Howard went into overdrive.

At the 5:57 with three-pointer by Smith, Howard reached a second-half high 27-point lead. The Lady Bison continued down the road to victory and concluded the regular season with a 26-point, 65-39 win over Delaware State to close out the 2012-13 regular season.

In the 26-point victory Doyle led the squad with a team-high 17 points, while O'Neal scored a career-high 11 points and freshman Imani Bailey put in 11 points, on a 3-of-5 outing from three point range. Curley-Payne distributed 11 assists and gathered six steals.

Collectively, HU shot 71 percent from the charity stripe (10-14), 34 percent from the field (24-71) and 29 percent from three-point range (7-24).
