Small Business Committee Ranking Member Cardin Meets with SBA Administrator Contreras-Sweet

WASHINGTON – In their first meetings since he was named Ranking Member of the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) and Maria Contreras-Sweet, Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration, met to discuss priority issues for American small businesses in the 114th Congress.

“Small businesses are the backbone of the U.S. economy and vital to growth in every community across Maryland and the country,” said Senator Cardin.  “Administrator Contreras-Sweet and I had a productive conversation about what the federal government can do to help small businesses gain access to credit and contracts. We are united in our desire to ensure that the federal government remains a reliable customer and a partner with small businesses and not an obstacle to growth.”
