(February 12, 2009) -- The stepson of famed philanthropist and author Bishop T.D. Jakes was arrested on Jan. 3, for what Dallas, Texas, police are calling “indecent exposure.”
Gossip Web site mediatakeout.com reported Feb. 11 that, according to a Dallas Police Department arrest warrant affidavit, Jermaine Jakes exposed himself to two police officers at a public park and began to masturbate while making eye contact with one of the detectives.
Faith Johnson, an attorney for Jermaine Jakes, released a statement on his behalf to Dallas/Fort Worth news station CBS 11.
“We are aware of potential allegations involving Jermaine Jakes and are undertaking our own investigation of these allegations at this time. Given an apparent government investigation, we have no further comment at this time.”
Jakes was later released from jail on a personal recognizance bond.
