(April 21, 2009) - The Henry Wise Pumas (5-2) handled business on the road last Friday, taking out the Laurel Spartans, 6-2.
The Spartans took an 2-0 lead in the third inning, but the Pumas were able to bite back in the fourth inning when starting pitcher Andrew Byrd hit a two-run RBI to tie the game.
Not only did Byrd drive in two runs, he also stopped 16 batters at the plate. Puma’s third basemen Zachary Myers followed up in the fourth and sixth innings with a total of four RBI’s that set the final score.
