(June 26, 2009) - The last two weeks in charm city have been nothing short of exciting with launch parties, concerts, Delta’s, celeb sightings and so much more.
The world premiere of the Marc Clarke Show went down last Thursday at the Senator Theater (5904 York Road). Many members of the community came out to support Marc in his new venture. Baltimore native and comedian, Larry Lancaster was the MC for the night, and had me laughing non-stop. He joked about everything from Lexington Market to the “county folk.” He even brought back his old character Gerard from the Big Phat Morning Show. Singer David Marshall sang a beautiful gospel song and comedian Meshelle performed as well. The first show was played well received by the crowd. Marc’s first show featured NFL players, radio/tv personalities, and local community leaders. It had a real “Baltimore” feeling and on top of that it was pretty hilarious. Although Marc did radio for so many years, I’d say he made the transition to television look quite easy.
SwaggLife Magazine, a new entertainment magazine celebrated the launch of their first issue at Velvet Rope (200 E. Redwood Road) Local celebrities Bossman, Shannon Ramsey, Skarr Akbar, D.J. Quicksilva, and Tracey Stafford were all in the building. The night brought together some of Baltimore’s biggest promoters and socialites.
The number one sorority in the country (I’m a little biased) Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. graced Baltimore with their presence this week for the Sorority’s Eastern Regional Conference. Many Delta’s were spotted getting their party on at Pur, T.D. Lounge, and Velvet Rope. Baltimore native Bishop Vashti McKenzie and legend Dorothy Heights were both spotted at the convention center.
Chrisette Michelle, Anthony Hamilton, and Musiq Soulchild performed to a sold out crowd at Pier Six Pavilion this weekend. Baltimore native Brooke Crittendon of Harlem Heights was spotted in town this weekend, she was here to host a party at D.C. hotspot Layla Lounge.

Until Next Week,
