(July 18, 2009) - The warm weather has finally begun and so have all the wonderful summer activities in charm city. In the last two weeks Baltimore has welcomed the sun with fireworks, AFRAM, and parties galore!

AFRAM proved to be the event of the year with appearances by Anita Baker, Toni, Tony, Tone, Teena Marie, and En Vogue amongst others. Attendees enjoyed the vendors, music, and food.

Buffalo Bills player and Baltimore native Aaron Maybin celebrated his newly signed contract with the NFL at Bourbon Street (316 Guilford St.). The event was an all white affair and attended by many of his NFL friends and Baltimore socialites. Azikiwe’s (CEO Events 4 Good People) held his Birthday Summer Ball at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum (830 E. Pratt St). Baltimore promoters and business owners showed their support by attending the event.

R&B sensation Al B. Sure appeared in Baltimore last Saturday at the Sound Garden (1616 Thames St.). He signed a copy of his new CD ‘Honey I’m Home” for fans. Nas, Common, KRS One, Busta Rhymes and Tabi Bonney were at the Meriweather Post Pavilion this past weekend to perform at the annual Rock The Bells concert. The audience enjoyed chilling out on the lawn to some classic hip hop beats.

This weekend be sure to check out ArtScape, with performances by Robin Thicke, Dionne Warwick, Cake, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Acrobats of China, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and many more.

If you’re looking for a new Friday night happy hour try 5th Avenue at Velvet Rope (200 E. Redwood).

Until Next Week,

Mia
