T.V. talk show host and syndicated radio personality Steve Harvey hosted the 11th annual Neighborhood Awards Aug. 10.

The event, which was held at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, honors community members across the country for doing great deeds and delivering outstanding service.  Below is a list of D.C. area people and businesses that were feted. 

Best Community Leader

Stan Richards, Washington D.C.

Best Soul Food

Carolina Kitchen Bar and Grill, Hyattsville, Md.

Best School Teacher

Albert T. Lewis of Walker Mill Middle School, Capitol Heights, Md.

Best Church

First Baptist Church of Glenarden, Upper Marlboro, Md.
