Now through Oct. 31, 2012, 501c3 organizations that provide emergency services support throughout BGE’s service area - either preparedness or response and recovery- are encouraged to apply for a single grant of up to $10,000.

“As part of BGE’s long-standing commitment to giving back to and improving the communities in which we live and work through corporate contributions and employee volunteering, this new grant program represents yet another means for extending that commitment to our emergency response partners,” said Stephen J. Multiple grants will be awarded and will be considered for new and existing programs that fall within the defined grant description guidelines.  Consideration will also be given to  requests  that clearly demonstrate improvement in response efforts to urgent and immediate needs of the community. Some examples of qualifying organizations include, but are not limited to American Red Cross, emergency relief organizations and first responders such as police and firefighters, including volunteer fire departments.
