BGE Encourages Customers to Prepare Air Conditioning Equipment for the

 

Summer Cooling Season

 

 

BGE customers can receive a $100 energy efficiency rebate from the BGE Smart Energy Savers

 

Program® by having their air conditioning system serviced

 

BALTIMOREJune 6, 2013 – Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE) <http://www.bge.com/Pages/default.aspx>  encourages customers to prepare for the summer cooling season by having their air conditioning system tuned-up and serviced now, in advance of the warmer summer months. Heating and air conditioning (HVAC) account for up to 50 percent of a customer’s energy usage each month. A properly installed and maintained heating and cooling system can reduce energy use, improve comfort, and help customers save money.  The BGE Cooling Efficiency Improvement Program <http://www.bgesmartenergy.com/residential/heating-cooling>  goes beyond the typical seasonal tune-up to evaluate air conditioning equipment and make necessary adjustments to ensure that systems are operating as efficiently as possible.  A $100 rebate is offered for this service underBGE’s Smart Energy Savers Program <http://www.bgesmartenergy.comCustomers can find more information and a participating contractor at BGESmartEnergy.com/HVAC <http://www.bgesmartenergy.com/hvac.

For those who may need to upgrade or replace their HVAC equipment, BGE's Smart Energy Savers Program<http://www.bgesmartenergy.comoffers rebates of up to $1,150 on high efficiency HVAC equipment.” 
 
Customers can also receive the following rebates and discounts through the BGE Smart Energy Savers Program<http://www.bgesmartenergy.com

·         $350 rebate on the purchase of an ENERGY STAR certified electric heat pump water heater

·         $100-$150 rebate on the purchase of an ENERGY STAR certified refrigerator

·         $50-$100 rebate on the purchase of an ENERGY STAR certified clothes washer

·         $75 rebate on the purchase of an ENERGY STAR certified freezer

·         $25 rebate on the purchase of an ENERGY STAR certified room air conditioning unit

·         $25 rebate on the purchase of an ENERGY STAR certified dehumidifier

·         Discounts up to $2.25 per CFL bulb and up to $5 off LEDs for select ENERGY STAR certified lighting products
