BGE Relocation of Utilities Near Baltimore Casino Development to Result in Traffic Pattern Shifts
on Russell Street and Surrounding Roads
BALTIMORE (Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE) will be relocating underground utilities on and in the vicinity of Russell Street (295/Baltimore-Washington Parkway). This will require roadwork and lane closures in segments along Russell Street between Haines Street and Worcester Street including the center lanes of Russell Street in both the northbound and southbound directions. BGE expects to begin roadwork on Russell Street on or about and estimates work on Russell Street will continue in segments through July 2014.) —In order to accommodate the construction of the casino in Baltimore City,
Additionally there will be roadwork on Haines Street, Bayard Street, Worcester Street and Warner Street. BGE will be working closely with the developer of the casino, Baltimore City and nearby businesses, including the Greyhound Bus Lines station on Haines Street, to minimize disturbances to traffic patterns and the surrounding area as much as possible.
All lane closures will be clearly marked and managed. BGE will be scheduling work during non-rush hours, - , and suspending work during games and special events at M&T Bank Stadium. BGE reminds area motorists and pedestrians to be cautious in and around utility work zones for their own safety and the safety of BGE employees and contractors.
