LT. GOVERNOR BROWN TO BE BRIEFED ON MARYLAND NATIONAL GUARD STORM RESPONSE



ANNAPOLIS, Md. (February 9, 2010) – Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown will be briefed tomorrow morning by Col. Lorenzo Cooper on the Maryland National Guard’s response to the winter storm. Col. Cooper is leading the Maryland Guard’s statewide storm response. Last Friday, Governor Martin O’Malley declared a state of emergency and mobilized the Guard to assist with snow removal and emergency response efforts. Over 500 members of the Maryland National Guard have reported for service. Immediately following the briefing, which is open to the press for b-roll and background, Brown will hold a short media availability before joining members of the Maryland National Guard on a response mission.
