First Lady to Discuss Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week – May 2 through 8
ANNAPOLIS, MD (May 5, 2010) – First Lady Katie O’Malley tomorrow will appear LIVE on the Fox 45 morning show to talk about Children’s Mental Health Awareness week, which is May 2 through 8, 2010. First Lady O’Malley serves as a spokesperson for the campaign, sponsored by Children’s Mental Health Matters! and cosponsored by the Mental Health Association of Maryland and the Maryland Coalition of Families for Children’s Mental Health. National Children’s Mental Health Awareness is held on May 6, 2010.
Children’s Mental Health Matters is a statewide outreach campaign targeting parents and other caregivers of children. One in five children may experience a mental, emotional or behavioral health problem before age 18. No one is immune, and these problems affect children of all demographic groups, regardless of education, income, race or culture.
