Edwards, Ellison, Schakowsky, DeFazio, Lee and Others to Condemn Use of Chained CPI in Deficit Deal

Washington, DC – Tomorrow, Thursday, December 20, 2012, Representatives Donna F. Edwards (MD-04), Keith Ellison (MN-05), Jan Schakowsky (IL-09), Peter DeFazio (OR-04), Barbara Lee (CA-09) and others will hold a press conference to condemn the use of the Chained CPI in any deficit reduction deal. The Chained CPI represents an immediate benefits cut for seniors, children, veterans, and the disabled. Members of Congress will be joined by the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare, and other groups.
