WHAT:          Back for the third year, Comptroller Peter Franchot will remind consumers of Shop Maryland Energy, a special weekend offering a tax break on certain ENERGY STAR products. The Comptroller will promote the weekend and unveil the list of products eligible for the initiative.

Beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, February 16 through midnight on Monday, February 18, 2013, qualifying ENERGY STAR products will be exempt from Maryland’s six percent sales tax. A list of exempt and taxable items is available on the Comptroller’s Website

Shop Maryland Energy
 occurs each year from the Saturday immediately preceding the third Monday in February until the third Monday of February.
