Gearing Up for Memorial Day Weekend, Comptroller’s Office

Continues Aggressive Gas Inspection Program 

- Inspections Protect Consumers at the Pump; Verify Quality of Fuel –

WHAT:           Comptroller Peter Franchot will join members of his field enforcement division to perform an inspection of a Liberty gas station in Chevy Chase. As Marylanders prepare to travel for the extended weekend, the Comptroller is committed to ensuring that consumers are getting the gas grade they are paying for at the pump. 
 
The Comptroller’s motor fuel inspection team aggressively inspects the quality of fuel at various gas stations throughout Maryland. So far, in fiscal year 2013, which ends on June 30, the Comptroller’s Office has inspected approximately 80% of 2,365 gas stations in the state.
