WHAT: Comptroller Franchot, along with Treasurer Nancy Kopp and state budget and management secretary T. Eloise Foster, will host a first-of-its-kind savings summit.
The event, which is open to the public, will feature experts in financial management, banking and lending and education analyzing the current savings climate in Maryland and discussing ways to strengthen the culture of savings. Studies estimate that nearly 40 percent of older households in Maryland are inadequately prepared for retirement.
