GOVERNOR O’MALLEY TO HOST DIGITAL LEARNING ROUNDTABLE

ANNAPOLIS (October 23, 2013) – Today, October 23, Governor O’Malley will host a digital learning roundtable with former West Virginia Governor and current president of the Alliance for Excellent Education Bob Wise, State Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lillian Lowery and educators from Baltimore, Garrett and Frederick Counties about reaching students in new and innovative ways and preparing them for the 21st century workforce.

On September 18, 2013, Governor O’Malley announced the first recipients of the Digital Learning Innovation Fund and the Early College Innovation Fund. These programs were designed to increase school systems’ use of new and emerging technologies to improve student outcomes and better prepare all students for the workforce needs of the 21st Century.
