He will Sponsor Health Care Career Expo, Announce Major Land Acquisition for Blackwater Refuge

On Monday, October 31, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) will travel to Dorchester County to participate in a major land acquisition announcement for the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. Senate Cardin also will sponsor a Health Care Career Expo in Cambridge to connect Marylanders with jobs in the health care field. The Governor’s Workforce Investment Board estimates that by 2018 more than 55,000 new jobs in the health care field in Maryland will be created.

Senator Cardin’s schedule for Monday, October 31 is as follows:

· 10 a.m. – Announcement of expansion of Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge

(DIRECTIONS: From U.S. Route 50, east or west, take MD Route 331 exit south to town. Turn left at second intersection onto Race Street and travel to river. Turn right onto Water Street. Parking will be at the Murphy Community Hall, 104 Race Street, Vienna, MD, located just north of the waterfront.

· 11:15 a.m. – Senator Cardin to address Health Care Career Expo
