Hello folks! How are you? Honey child, I got some stuff for you this week. But girlfriend, last week was the BOMB! Boo-Boo and I were all over the place selling and autographing my new book. With that said, I want to thank my readers, fans and friends for such a strong support. It seems like you enjoy my book African-American Community, History & Entertainment in Maryland” (Remembering the Yesterday’s 1940-1980) as much as I enjoyed putting it together. I appreciate that.

Since June 20 of this year, we have sold over 3,000 books in Baltimore and across the country. This past week, I was invited to the Baltimore Book Festival in Mt. Vernon, and there I saw many of my fans, who purchased the book. Check out my new website:

This week will be fun and interesting, too. There will be a “Tribute to Mahalia Jackson” this coming weekend, Performing are Lavenia Nesmith, vocalist; musicians are: Harry Jackson on bass, Stephen Kay, pianist; Julian Hipkins, narrator and Terron Whitehead, percussionist Oct. 6 at 4 p.m. at Union Baptist Church, 1219 Druid Hill Avenue. This will be a powerful and heart-warming performance of memorable songs of praise. Admission is free. There will be a free-will offering. Rev. Dr. Alvin C. Hathaway Sr. is the pastor. Among the events going on this weekend is the “Trinity Chapter #5 Order of the Eastern Stars Fall Cabaret” on Oct. 5, 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. at the Monumental Elks Lodge #3, located 1528 Madison Avenue. There will be a banquet honoring Joan D. Campbell, Most Ancient Grand Matron,and Samuel A. Henry, Most Worthy Grand Joshua, from Prince Hall Masons. The Emmanuel Court No. 4 and Fairmount Court No.8 Heroines of Jericho Prince Hall Affiliation invite you to join them on Oct. 6, 4p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Champagne Room, 2701 W.
