Asbury United Methodist Church located at 926 11th Street, N.W., will celebrate Women’s Day Oct. 18 and Oct. 19. The two-day celebration will begin with a spiritual retreat Oct. 18 at the church, starting at 9:00 a.m.
The Women’s Day observance will continue with 10:30 a.m. worship service Oct. 19. Linda Lee, currently serving as Bishop-in-Residence at Garrett Evangelical Seminary in Evanston, Ill. will preach.
A reception will follow the morning worship service.
There will also be an afternoon concert at 3:00 p.m. that will feature Asbury’s Male Chorus; Alfred Street Baptist Church Male Chorus; and John Wesley AME Zion Male Chorus.
Admission is free. Parking is available at no cost in the garage next to the church.
