BCCC Becomes NEW CVS Health COVID-19 Testing Site

(BALTIMORE, MD – October 13, 2020) – Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) and CVS Health announced BCCC would be a new COVID-19 testing site in West Baltimore. The COVID-19, free and rapid-testing site moved from its original location at Mondawmin Mall, and will be located at the College’s South Pavilion, 2600 Liberty Heights Avenue. CVS Health had operated the testing site at the nearby mall since June, and it will now be located at BCCC until at least the end of 2020. The move was initiated to extend access of no-cost COVID-19 testing to vulnerable populations in the local community who may not otherwise have access to testing.

“BCCC and CVS Health share a vision of improving access through education and resources for Baltimore residents. We began our partnership in 2018, when CVS Health opened its mock pharmacy. We see this new collaboration as a natural transition in our work together providing access and support to our local community,” said Dr. Debra L. McCurdy, BCCC President.

This initiative builds on the ongoing partnership between Baltimore City Community College and CVS Health to increase access to health care and create meaningful employment opportunities locally.

“We have worked with Baltimore City Community College for several years to advance our shared mission of supporting workforce development, particularly in the pharmacy space,” said David Casey, Chief Diversity Officer, CVS Health. “Expanding on our work together increases our positive impact on the local community and extends our commitment to increasing access to COVID-19 testing for those who need it most and who are most at-risk.”
