The bomb squad of Prince George’s County Fire Department created noise-making Easter eggs that enabled visually impaired children to participate in Easter eggs hunts.
Most of the eggs were given to the Prince George’s County Public Schools Vision Program, which works with children who are blind or visually impaired. The eggs were used last week before Easter.
Members of the bomb squad constructed the eggs from donated materials including electronic devices that beep, 9-volt batteries and plastic egg shells.
Mark Brady, the fire department’s public information officer, says making the eggs also provided the bomb squad the opportunity to practice their handling of small electronics.
