The Bowie State Bulldogs advanced to a 2-0 record after beating Brevard College, 35-21, in a non-conference road game on Sept. 12 in Memorial Stadium in Brevard, N.C.

Graduate quarterback Matthew Goggans was stellar for a second consecutive week, scoring five touchdowns. Goggans tossed four touchdown passes, including two 60-yard bombs for scores. His first touchdown was a 64-yarder to junior receiver Jordan Garrison early in the first quarter. Garrison also caught a 61-yard touchdown from Goggans in the third quarter.

Goggans’ fifth touchdown was a 1-yard run at the start of the fourth quarter. He finished 19 of 33 for 352 passing yards. Graduate running back Kendall Jefferson ran for 121 yards on 14 carries for Bowie State.

Next – Bowie State (2-0) will stay on the road to face more non-conference action against Central Connecticut State on Sept. 19 in Great Britain, Conn.
