The Bowie State Bulldogs currently lead the Central Interscholastic Athletic Association’s North (CIAA) Division with an 8-4 overall record, fresh off a two-game win streak with home victories collected over West Virginia State University on Dec. 15 and Palm Beach Atlantic University on Dec. 16.

Bowie State’s 91-83 win over Palm Beach Atlantic in Bowie, Md., was the last game the Bulldogs will play before the New Year. Bowie State controlled Palm Beach Atlantic most of the game, and led by as many as 15 points late in the second half before Palm Beach Atlantic made a comeback to cut the lead to just seven points. But the Bulldogs held off  its contender by making 9-of-10 free throws during the final moments of the game.

Bulldogs senior guard Cameron Knox led all scorers with 23 points, while junior guard Justin Beck added a double-double of 19 points with 11 rebounds. Three other players for Bowie State also scored double-digits in points with freshman Ahmaad Wilson dropping 13 points and junior forwards Miles Jackson and Andre Jackson scoring 11 points each.

Next: Bowie State will take on its CIAA schedule with three straight home games, starting Jan. 1 with a home game against Livingston College. The Bulldogs then face Johnson C. Smith on Jan. 3 and Winston-Salem State on Jan. 5.
