Herman Cain, the Black GOP candidate for president, said some Americans might be uncomfortable with Mitt Romney’s Mormon faith. Romney, the former Gov. of Massachusetts and a Republican, is also running for president.

“I did make that statement and it does not bother me,” Cain said of Romney’s faith. “But because I live in Atlanta, Ga. — I have been back in my hometown for 10 years — I listen to what people say. What they basically say is they are not clear on how does the Mormon religion relate to the majority of people’s Protestant, Christian religion in the South.”

“It was not a dispersion whatsoever on his religion,” said Cain, the former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza. “I was simply saying what others have told me about not being real clear in understanding his religion.”
