Alayla Abernathy of Catonsville, Md. has been selected to participate in the 2014 Miss Jr. Teen Baltimore/Washington pageant on Nov. 10.

An honors student in her sophomore year at Catonsville High School, Alayla is an active member of the Catonsville Comets lacrosse and cheerleading teams, and was recently crowned homecoming princess—voted by peers—for the second consecutive year. In the community, she enjoys working with children as a tutor, babysitter, and church volunteer. Her interests include spending time with family, friends, and pets including her Russian tortious, Tortelli.

Competing in the Miss Jr. Teen division of the pageant for girls ages 13 to 15, Alayla will participate in casual and formal wear modeling routines while displaying her personality with the judging panel. Thousands in scholarships and prizes will be distributed to contestants, and the winner of the Jr. Miss Teen Baltimore/Washington competition will represent the surrounding communities at the National Competition in Orlando, Fl., where more than $30,000 in prizes and awards will be presented.

Family, friends, and businesses are invited to make donations as official sponsors of Alayla’s pageant participation. All sponsors will be listed in the official pageant program book, and business sponsors will be promoted to thousands of followers through Alayla’s social media networks.
