Earl Carrington Watson, Sr.
Earl Carrington Watson Sr., beloved husband of Inez Augins Watson, slipped into Eternal Life on Sunday, April 10, 2016, after a brief illness. He retired from the Baltimore City Health Department in 1996 holding the position of Director of Animal Control. Watson held the following prior positions: Teacher, Baltimore City Public School System (Johnston Square Elementary School); Assistant Director, Health Education at Baltimore City Hospitals; Sr. Health Educator at Baltimore City Health Department; and, Instructor for 20 years in the Continuing Education Department at The Community College of Baltimore.
Watson was a Loving Father, brother, uncle and friend. A Graduate of Frederick Douglass High School-Class of June 1953, he is presently Chairperson of his Class Alumni Committee. He rec’d his B.S. Degree from Coppin State College, now known as Coppin State University and also did Graduate work at Coppin in the Masters of Education Program.
He was a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. and the T & T Mens Golf Club. Watson coached basketball and football in the Baltimore County Recreation and Parks programs where his children played sports for many years.
He leaves to mourn the love of his life, his wife and childhood sweetheart, Inez; his loving children: three sons: Earl, Jr. (Emily); David Watson, Sr,(Donna); Antonio Watson Sr.; one daughter, Adrienne Watson Carver (Stacey, Sr.); and, a very special niece whom he and his wife raised, Stacey Pullen Nelson (Karl).
Earl’s most loved hobby for the past 40 years was Playing Golf at Forest Park Golf Course, where he also worked until his recent bout of illness in late 2016. Earl Watson, Sr. was an amazing man that loved life and lived life to the fullest every day.
He loved God, his family, his friends and his community. He was a selfless giving, caring man with a heart of gold who lived to see others strive! He will forever be our champion of courage! “Earl the Pearl”…a precious, priceless pearl is exactly what he will always be!
