Edwards Statement on Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action Regarding Iran
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Donna F. Edwards (MD-4) issued the below statement regarding today’s announcement that a Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was reached between the P5+1 and Iran.
“Since this process began nearly 20 months ago, I believed we must give diplomacy a chance,” Edwards said. “I salute President Obama and Secretary Kerry for their relentless pursuit of diplomacy with verification. I look forward to reading the details of today’s historic announcement and working with my colleagues to ensure that Iran and the international community meet all promises and commitments to ensure that Iran does not develop a nuclear weapon.”
