The past year has been an emotional rollercoaster for “American Idol” winner Fantasia. A failed suicide attempt, relationship with a married man – and the media onslaught that followed – drew attention to the North Carolina-born singer’s latest album, Back to Me, and her career continues to evolve with her first headlining tour.
The Back to Me tour – a 30-city romp – kicked off Nov. 4 in Richmond, Va., and comes to Baltimore Nov.7 at the Meyerhoff. Also on the bill are singers Eric Benet and Kandi, also a featured cast member on “Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
Back to Me debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart in August and became the top R&B release thanks to single “Bittersweet.” “I’m so excited about this tour and having the chance to connect with my fans, the people that love me and have been supporting me through everything,” the single mom said in a statement announcing the tour. “This tour is going to be a real special, intimate experience for them and for me.”
Fantasia appears at Baltimore’s Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, Nov. 7. For more information and tickets, visit ticketmaster.com.
