Joyce Jefferson Bearden

Joyce Jefferson Bearden, a former reporter, talk show host and TV personality in Baltimore, died at the age of 64. The cause of death was early-onset Alzheimer’s.

Bearden, who grew up in Detroit, Michigan, worked at WMAR-TV in Baltimore in the 1980s. She would go on to be the Director of Cable and Communications under Baltimore Mayor Kurt Schmoke. Her funeral was held on Sept. 12 at the Plymouth United Church of Christ in Detroit.
