People with HIV, especially those with detectable viral load and those aging with HIV, need information and further education on COVID-19 and its impact on HIV care and treatment. With the stay at home social distancing guidance in place in most states, it has become increasingly more challenging for people with HIV to access care, maintain a healthy outlook, and remain connected.
Physical distancing has impacted access to and coordination of care, as well as mental health concerns driven by social isolation and overall pandemic-related anxiety and depression.
